Sorry, quick post!!! But I just HAD to talk about the VMA outfits. What had gotten into those celebrities? They all dressed mad. And not even cool weird, just weird weird. I mean Lady Gaga looked like John Travolta in Grease. Nicki Minaj looked like an ice cream store threw up on her and she got up and got tangled in Toys R Us. And then Katy Perry looked like cotton candy with cheese on top. Great on the runway but NOT on her. It seemed like they were all trying to just get attention and create another 'VMA scandal' but it didn't work and they just ended up looking odd and out of place. Props to Selena Gomez though, who I thought wore the most gorgeous gown!

It's funny cuz I really never liked these shoes. Then one magical day I decided that I was over it. I want a pair. They are lovely with everything and create a grungy-punk vibe to every thing they are paired to. Oh how my taste has changed. In shoes especially. I used to care about comfort but now I'm heels all the way. That has also affected the price of everything I've wanted too. I can't afford $100 shoes. But pictures are free:).

As I was flipping through one of my fashion designer books, I fell upon the wonderful timeless designer Elsa Schiaparelli. She was famous in the 1930's almost overnight. She was inspired by surrealism in art, such as works by Dali. Her works were so creative and seem current. She made trompe l'oeil sweaters and even shoes hats. Her incredible imagination and modern aesthetic kept people hooked back then, and got me hooked 80 years later.

Star print has always been a favorite of mine. I usually wear it casually though, never knowing that it could be high fashion wear. Dolce & Gabbana's Fall 2011 Ready Wear makes craftful(is that a word?) use of star print,sparkle, sideways fannypacks and menswear. They take it to a whole new level. I loved Fergie's yellow and black Dolce dress(not really on her, but in general). Taking the ultimate comfortable, casual print and making it higher fashion. I have to say that this collection is a whole new level of genius.

As I was reading the glitterguide yesterday(check it out,i love!), I was reminded of my deep love for the Jenni Kayne Resort 2012 collection. It is simple bliss! I love the color scheme, which includes beautiful peaches, yellows, grays and whites. I also love the hat,hair,sunglasses,and lipstick she chose-incredible styling. She made simplicity perfection!

Okay, not really animal crackers but animal rings! Both are equally as cuuuute though. I have to say, without realizing it, I have quite the collection of animal rings. I have a turtle, frog, lizard, crocodile, owl, jaguar, and a deer ring. Most of these animals I would usually be scared of, but thats the great part about an animal ring. All the lovely qualities of an animal in a safe and tiny form. I've always had a special spot in my heart for animals. At one point in my life I even wanted to be a veternarian, until I realized that they watch many animals die. Luckily rings are eternal(at least with super glue!).There's still a ton more animals I'd love to add to my collection!I've always been on the lookout for a spider and a snake ring, but i'm also loving these cuties below!

I have to say, as a child my favorite Disney movie was Alice in Wonderland. I never enjoyed the book, but I loved the imagination and creativity that went into the movie. From the tiny "Eat Me" cookies to the very backwards tea party, I had never seen anything quite like it and honestly nothing to this day compares. Especially the non-animated version. That was a big disappointment for me. Well anyways, Alice in Wonderland still holds a spot in my heart. I was inspired from it in a quick little watercolor version yesterday. And now I'm craving a cute pocket watch necklace to remind me not to be late.

As many have noted, galaxy print clothing is very trendy at the moment. Thanks to Christopher Kane's Resort 2011 collection, this trend is now widespread. And I actually think its a very interesting one. It's so creative, I would have never thought to wear the night sky as a beautiful dress. It's also kind of mysterious, dark, and punk-esque.  If I find a cheap enough galaxy print shirt, I'll be sure to buy it. Or maybe I'll try to DIY it here.
